DR. CAROLINE DOYON

Dr. Doyon holds a master’s degree in Molecular Biology as well as a master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences in addition to being qualified as a general surgeon in 2012 by the faculty of the University of Montreal and certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons from Canada. She practiced for three years in a high-volume hospital center on the south shore of Montreal before reorienting her practice as a emergency surgeon in a remote region, where she was able to broaden her range of knowledge in general surgery. She was responsible for teaching medical residents and lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of McGill University.

Dr. Doyon now wants to turn to a more humanist quality medicine, one that listens to patients and is based on a relationship of trust between her patients and herself.

Q&A

Answers to your most frequently asked questions

Normally, lead times are a few days for the initial consultation. This consultation will allow the doctor to evaluate you, confirm the diagnosis and give explanations about the surgery in addition to giving you all the information necessary for you to be able to give informed consent.

Following this consultation, the time for surgery is approximately 2 to 4 weeks depending on your availability and that of the doctor.

It all depends on the type of surgery and the doctor.

Some minor surgeries could take place directly in the clinic and the majority of more complex cases will take place externally.

We invite you to join us for more information.

The elastic technique (hemorrhoidal ligation) or hemorrhoidectomy will be proposed depending on the evaluation.

This painless technique consists of placing an elastic band at the base of the hemorrhoid in order to create scar tissue.

This technique is effective, but not definitive. Maintenance treatment is necessary.

The laparoscopic or laparotomy technique.
